There have been 18 states who have abolished capital punishment, six of which abolished it in 2007. During the years 1997-2005 there were and average of 71.1 executions. Analysis
This article that I read came from a credible source and provided me with a lot of information that I could talk about. The author went in to depth about the different execution methods and which ones were used the most. The author could have talked about why some of the states abolished the Death Penalty, which would have made the article a lot better. Overall the article was pretty good.
Reflection
I learned a lot from this article about the Death Penalty. I did not know that the average executions per year was 44.3. That is a lot lower than I thought. It surprised me that some states are still using the gas chamber and firing squad methods. I was also surprised that SIX states abolished the Death Penalty in 2007. That is crazy!

Opinion
I really like this article. I honestly think that the number of executions per year should be a lot higher than it is now though. I honestly don't like how 6 states abolished the Death Penalty in the same year, it made me think that they teamed up to do it together. The Death Penalty needs to be reinforced in all of these states and needs to be used more often.
